Scholarship InformationDelaware State University is committed to making higher education accessible, as demonstrated by our reasonable tuition for in-state and out-of-state students and in our variety of scholarships, financial aid programs, and financing plans. While we strive to make a University education affordable, virtually all students will have a combination of student and family contributions and student/parent loans in addition to any grants or scholarships awarded.
The application for currently enrolled and transfer students to apply for any possible private scholarships is our University Scholarship Application. A student must also have on file with the Financial Aid Office the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Priority will be given to those students that apply with FAFSA before March 15th. The scholarship application must be completed online. Please take note of the application deadline of March 15 to be given priority consideration for private scholarships for the following academic year.
These scholarships are based upon academic merit and the student's financial need. Chosen applicants will receive a written notification of a scholarship award. There is generally a 2.5 minimum GPA requirement for consideration, although this varies. Please review the list of Available Private Scholarships to determine which scholarships are best suited to your qualifications and interests. An application for a private scholarship does not guarantee an award. Chosen applicants vary depending on funding availability and the pool of qualified applicants. See the Scholarship Procedures page for details about guidelines and procedures.
All applicants for private scholarships shall fill out the University Scholarship Application online. Students applying for the Alumni Legacy Endowed Scholarship shall complete the University Scholarship Application online as well as provide the recommendations and other materials as noted online.
For questions or concerns please contact the Delaware State University Office of Financial Aid at (302) 857-6250 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
